I wondered what figurative works might look like using the reductive methods I was exploring. I kept the idea of multiple views to suggest the passage of time or motion, but to keep it light hearted, I decided my models should wear sandals, boots or heels. It was a fortunate choice because the footwear became the focal point within the picture, being bright, sassy and iconic. The titles make reference to famous designers.
I also thought the pairing of figure and antique vase imagery would be an interesting way to delve into Greek Mythology. I didn't get as far in this as I would have liked as it proved a difficult endeavor, still some interesting paintings emerged. Then reducing even further, I made a series based on artist muses.
