“Art is the blatant act of mimicking our heroes, and the heroic act of having the audacity to call it our own.”

I have painted in oils since I was eleven, that’s over 56 years of study, for in fact that is what I would call it. My heroes have been many, but each has been intractable, persistent and indefatigable. They include Jim Dine, Adolf Menzel and Fredrick Varley. Without these and other historical ‘Mentors’ I often wonder how high I would have aimed. I’m not finished yet, though, and if I can pass on their example to anyone pursuing and as passionate about art as myself, it will more than justify the hours, days, and years I have brushed, scrapped, and stippled pigmented oils onto stretched linen.

The art on this site is only of recent works and but a sliver of decades of research through trial and joy.

I am represented by Gallery Gevik,Toronto, On. and Steffich Gallery, Salt Spring Island. BC.
